Bogart's Legacy — A Life. A Legacy. A Mission. Honoring the dog who started it all, building a future for the dogs and families who come next.
A Life. A Legacy. A Mission.

Bogart was a rough Collie — deeply loved, and deeply missed. What began as one family’s search for answers during his illness has become an organization devoted to research, education, and reform in canine cancer care.

Two ways to enter one story and mission.

Bogart’s Journey holds the storytelling and film. Bogart’s Legacy holds the research, education, advocacy and reform work that grew from his life.

Bogart’s Journey

Bogart’s life was filled with love, loyalty, humor, and more than a little mischief. His Journey tells the story of the extraordinary Collie behind the Legacy — the life he shared with his family, the illness that changed everything, and the purpose that followed.

Why this exists

The dog behind the Legacy.

Before there was research, advocacy, or reform, there was Bogart — a deeply loved Rough Collie whose illness sent Jill searching for answers she never expected to need.

What began as an effort to help one dog grew into thousands of hours of research and a determination to preserve what was learned for the dogs and families who come next.

What we do with it

Preserve the knowledge. Push for the standard.

Bogart’s Legacy exists to preserve and expand the research that grew from Bogart’s illness, and to use that knowledge to improve care for the dogs and families who come next.

We are building a serious research library, owner-facing education, and an advocacy platform focused on clearer treatment safeguards, stronger informed consent, better monitoring, and more consistent standards in veterinary care. The research stands on its own. The advocacy exists to help turn knowledge into change.
